International Friendship Day
Friendship Matters: Rotary Fellowship Building Wellbeing, Happiness and Community
Thursday is International Friendship Day. Good a reason as any to say something we don't say often enough: friendship isn't an extra in life. It's the thing that gets us through it.
Real friendship lowers stress, builds resilience, boosts happiness, and gives us a sense we belong somewhere. That's not sentiment, that's just how we're wired as people.
Rotary fellowship is that, turned up a notch. It starts with people who care about the same things you do, and turns into something bigger, friendships built while you're actually doing good together. Rolling up sleeves for a local project. Sharing a meal after a busy week. Turning up for each other, not just for the cause.
That's the bit people don't always see from the outside. Yes, we raise money and run projects. But underneath all of it is a group of people who've become genuinely good friends along the way.
A friendship that lifts you up, connects you to your community, and celebrates exactly who you are.
That's Rotary fellowship. And honestly, it's one of the best parts.
