A Very Special Thank You to Peter & Jenny Evans

Peter and Jenny were honoured by a special presentation for at the Abergavenny Rotary Club Members, Partners and Guest night.

To mark their outstanding contribution, the Club commissioned a painting “In appreciation of your many years of service to the Abergavenny Rotary Steam Rally.”  It was presented by David Tod, Steam Rally Co-ordinator,and accepted on their behalf by their daughters, Lucie Price and Julie Curr.

One of the most amazing things about the Abergavenny Steam Rally is the sheer range of people that are involved.  From those organising it, setting it up, ensuring the smooth running on the day to clearing up.

Peter and Jenny have been part of the team since the 1970”s.  Their dedication and hard work over the decades have helped raise many thousands of pounds for our local community. Peter, involved with the running and setting up and Jenny, looking after the exhibitors catering.

Peter and Jenny have now taken a well deserved step back, but the family tradition continues.  Their daughters took over from Jenny and their grandsons drive the large tractors all weekend, moving heavy equipment around the event whenever it’s needed.

In addition to the presentation Abergavenny Rotary Club invited Steam Rally Stewards to the meal, as a thank you for their dedication and hard work.

Finally, a huge thank you to every volunteers who makes the Abergavenny Steam Rally possible.  Without you, we simply couldn't raise the money we give back to our local community.
