At the Annual Rotary Club Assembly meeting on Tuesday 23 June 2026, the outgoing President Keith Willard presented a Paul Harris Fellowship Certificate and medal to the Club Treasurer Geoffrey Ball:
“in recognition and appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world”.
Geoff has been a member of the Club since 2017 and became Club Treasurer in 2020. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to ensure the financial affairs of the Club and the Steam Rally are in good order, as well as always providing wise counsel. Geoff was delighted to receive this accolade.
Celebrating Service above Self
The Paul Harris Fellowship is one of the highest honours that can be bestowed on an individual in Rotary. It is in the gift of the outgoing President to decide who to award it to.
It is named after Paul Harris, who founded Rotary International in Chicago in 1905. The honour can be bestowed upon both Rotarians and non-Rotarians who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the community or align with Rotary's ideals of service. Recipients receive a certificate and a medal.
Congratulations to Geoff and thank you for all that you do.
