Let’s Talk Rotary Fellowships: The Hidden Gem of the Rotary World

If you’ve ever wished Rotary had even more ways to meet interesting people, learn new things, or dive deeper into your favourite hobbies… good news. It does. They’re called Rotary Fellowships, and honestly, they’re one of the most delightful corners of the Rotary universe.


Think of Fellowships as little communities built around shared passions, whether that’s hiking up mountains, photographing sunsets, writing code, or enjoying a good glass of wine (responsibly, of course).


And the best part? They’re open to everyone. Rotarians, Rotaractors, partners, friends, and even people who’ve never set foot in a Rotary meeting. If you love the topic, you’re welcome.


So what exactly are Fellowships?

At their heart, Fellowships are international groups of people who share a common interest, hobby, profession, or cultural identity. They’re formally recognised by Rotary International, but they run themselves — their own events, their own governance, their own energy.


A few things make them special:

  • They’re truly global. Each Fellowship must have at least 25 members from five different countries.

  • They’re built around shared interests — everything from chess to healthcare to Argentine culture.

  • They’re open to anyone who wants to join.

  • They help people grow skills, both personal and professional.

  • And they create friendships that stretch far beyond clubs, districts, or borders.


It’s Rotary’s value of fellowship… but supercharged.


Why do Fellowships exist?

Because Rotary is about people — and people connect best when they share something they love.


Fellowships offer:
