Abergavenny Rotary Club is proudly supporting Abergavenny Cricket Club in its mission to make cricket more inclusive, accessible, and welcoming for women and girls. 🙌

👧🏽👩‍🦰 Women & Girls Are Changing the Game

Cricket, once seen as a male‑dominated sport, is evolving fast. Over the past five years, the number of women and girls stepping up to the crease has grown significantly.

One inspiring figure is Eve Jackson, Glamorgan CC Women’s Team player and a role model with close ties to the club, motivating a new generation of young girl cricketers. 🌟

Last year, 50% of the 150 under‑9 participants in the All Stars and Dynamos programmes were girls — and the 2025 entry programme saw even more girls than boys sign up! 🎉

🏏 New Girls‑Only Sessions

This season, the club is running girls‑only training sessions for:

Under 12s
Under 16s

A huge step toward creating a safe, fun and empowering environment. 💪💖

🛠️ Upgraded Facilities for Inclusivity

Phase 1 of the club’s improvement plan includes upgrading the changing rooms to create a welcoming, modern and inclusive space for women and girls.
